50 Million euro investment for LUMC spin-off RougeTx advances therapies for inherited bleeding disorders.
On Saturday 20 September, reNEW Leiden once again took part in the Nacht van Ontdekkingen (Night of Discoveries) in Leiden, the city’s annual science festival. Our researchers opened a window into the fascinating world of stem cells, giving visitors the chance to explore how these unique cells are helping us understand disease and develop new treatments.
At the reNEW ARTxSCIENCE competition, guests admired the beauty of stem cells through art and voted for their favourite image. In the interactive “Stem Cell Factory,” participants stepped into the shoes of reNEW scientists, creating model medicines for chronic diseases and learning how stem cells may one day make real cures possible.
Events like the Nacht van Ontdekkingen allow us to share this expertise with the wider public and engage in inspiring conversations about the future of medicine. We thank our dedicated volunteers for making this evening such a success. It was a night full of curiosity, creativity and discovery – and we look forward to next year’s edition!
