We are aiming to create a robust in vitro model using 3D electrospinning and electroactive polymers for human skeletal muscle to study both skeletal muscle development and genetic skeletal muscle diseases.
Impact
Our platform opens new possibilities for disease modeling and therapeutic screening to better understand the effect of mechanical stimulation on muscle differentiation, as well as a disease modeling system for many skeletal muscle dystrophies.
reNEW research
Our group focusses on understanding skeletal muscle differentiation and skeletal muscle diseases. Within this scope, we focus on developing relevant and robust 3D in vitro models.
